Manipal Hospitals' Senior Citizens' Sports Summit in Kolkata Honours the Ethos of Active Ageing

News Desk, News Nation 360: Theme: "Keep Life in Play!" was the theme of Manipal Hospitals Kolkata’s Senior Citizens’ Sports Summit 2026, which attracted over 100 participants who were excited to enjoy active ageing, agility, and mental well-being through various indoor sports activities like playing chess, carrom, musical chairs, marbles-and-spoons racing game, and spelling bees. The event was inaugurated by the legendary Arjuna Award-winning table tennis champion and Indian National Table Tennis Team coach Subhajit Saha and also included a felicitation ceremony for the achievements of the seniors in their communities, such as Padma Shri award winner physician Dr Arunoday Mondal, environmentalist Ramesh Chandran (Founder, Vinisha), and entrepreneur Madhumita Sen (Advaya Weaves). Leading experts in medicine from all branches of Manipal’s Kolkata Hospitals chain (Dhakuria, Broadway, Salt Lake, Mukundapur, and EM Bypass branches) – Dr. Susruta Bandyopadhyay, Dr. P. S. Banerjee, Dr. Sourav Chatterjee, Dr. Jayanta Das, Dr. Niket Arora, Dr. Rathijit Mitra, Dr. Soham Mandal, Dr. Ansu Sen, Dr. Sutanu Hazra, Dr. Sourav Dutta, Dr. Dilip Kumar, and Dr. Harsh Jain – were present during the celebrations and discussion forums on importance of physical activity, heart care, spinal health, and socialization.
