News Desk, News Nation 360: Ruby General Hospital announces the expansion of its tertiary surgical infrastructure in Kolkata with the inauguration of 6 new state-of-the-art modular OTs equipped with laminar flow infection control systems, 2 of which are dedicated organ transplant theatres and 2 advanced robotic surgery theatres that add to its existing 5 superspecialty OTs. The event coincides with the launch of Ruby’s 2 advanced robotic systems- an Orthopaedic TKR robotic system that enables sub-millimetre precision knee replacements and the internationally renowned Da Vinci Robotic Surgery system for minimally invasive surgeries- both unveiled by the hospital’s Chairman and Managing Director, Dr Kamal Kumar Dutta; Director Dr Sourav Dutta; and Director, Ruby Dutta, as a bridge between the latest global surgical innovations and regional healthcare accessibility. With inputs from renowned doctors across specialities like nephrologist Dr. Pratik Das, transplant surgeon Dr. T.K. Saha, robotic surgeons Dr. Debarchan Ghosh and Dr. Dipanjan Bhadra and Emeritus Surgical Oncologist & Director Ruby Cancer Centre Dr. Gautam Mukhopadhyay, it is safe to assume that the infusion of robotic systems that utilize AI technology to perform precision surgeries along with the multi-disciplinary approach that Ruby brings to the table will go a long way in addressing the region’s dire need for transplant facilities while elevating the standard of care in terms of minimally invasive cancer and joint replacement surgeries.
