News Desk, News Nation 360 : On July 26 and 27, SAIMUN 2024 set the tone for discussions and diplomacy. As the chief guest, His Excellency, the Hon'ble Governor of Odisha, Raghubar Das, honoured the opening ceremony. Chandramouli Guha, National Information Officer, United Nations Information Centre for India and Bhutan, was the chief guest at today's closing ceremony. SAIMUN 2024 concluded with a vibrant display of cultural exchange and a comprehensive overview of the conference in the form of the SAI Tribune. Delegates from AISEC, SIS, Uganda, and Sri Lanka showcased their cultures in the Global Village, while the official conference newsletter, released by Chief Guest Chandramouli Guha, captured the event's essence. SAIMUN brought together global leaders to tackle pressing issues like arms trade, education access, regional tensions, anti-terrorism, post-conflict development, children's rights, gender equality, drug abuse, environmental protection, and press freedom. Through spirited debates and collaborations, participants aimed to find solutions to these complex challenges and foster a better world. During his address, Chandramouli Guha shared that it is wonderful to see how SAIMUN unites bright young people from all over the world and provides them with a forum to exchange thoughts on significant social issues. These kinds of activities are crucial in the modern era to educating the next generation about global issues and the value of other cultures. The students engaged in a commendable activity in the first half of the term when they visited the Jeevan Jyoti Ashram, an orphanage with forty female inmates located in Khandagiri, close to Jaydev Vatika. Using plastic debris, they made ornamental planters for both indoor and outdoor plantings at the Ashram. In order to help the ashram with its urgent needs, they also gave groceries and a few other items.
