Sunil Bharti Mittal is a driver of the telecommunications revolution in India. He has impacted the world of communications immensely with Bharti Airtel. He demonstrates purpose, innovation, and global aspiration through his leadership. This cuts across telecom, digital infrastructure, financial services, and space communications. He is also committed to equitable access to education. The University of Bath presented him with his ninth honorary doctorate. This is his third from a UK university. He was awarded a Doctor of Laws by the University of Leeds in 2009. He was also awarded a Doctor of Civil Law by Newcastle University in 2012. Sunil Bharti Mittal has collaborated with leading academic institutions of India and the UK over time. Education assists in creating equitable world progress, he thinks. He served on the Governing Body of the London Business School. He was also a member of the Cambridge India Partnership Advisory Board at the University of Cambridge. He remains supportive of academic collaboration. He is a member of the Vice-Chancellor's Circle of Advisors at the University of Cambridge. He is also a member of the India Advisory Group at the London School of Economics and Political Science. In India, he is a member of the Boards of Governors of IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Lucknow, and IIT Bombay. He is the present chairperson of the Chancellor's Advisory Board of Plaksha University. He also serves on the Governing Board of the Indian School of Business.
