The 2026 Merlin CSJC Football Tournament Begins at Merlin Rise

News Desk, News Nation 360: The Merlin CSJC Football Tournament 2026, jointly conducted by the Calcutta Sports Journalists' Club (CSJC) and Merlin Group, was inaugurated at Merlin Rise, an advanced sports-oriented township, with participation from 23 teams from the print and electronic & digital media categories. The tournament, inaugurated in the presence of the legends of Indian football Dipendu Biswas and Sandip Nandy (Alvito D'Cunha having participated in the earlier fixture drawing session), saw the involvement of 17 media organisations on the first day of the two-day five-a-side championship, including dominant victories and tie-breaker matches by Jago Bangla, Ei Samay, Sangbad Pratidin, CSJC, The Echo of India, RevSportz, and YouTube Bullets. Emphasising the importance of the tournament in promoting fraternity, fitness, and sportsmanship among the media fraternity, Shri Saket Mohta, the MD of Merlin Group, and Archisman Bhaduri, the president of CSJC, highlighted the importance of getting the media organisations united while presenting the world-class athletic infrastructure of Merlin Rise.
