The 54th Senior Men's National Handball Championship 2025 begins at Chinsurah

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The 54th Senior Men's National Handball Championship 2025 kicked up at the Netaji Subhas Sports Arena in Priyonagar, Chinsura, Hooghly. The famous six-day competition will take place from December 15 to December 20, 2025, and will bring together the country's best handball players in a celebration of athletic excellence, competitive spirit, and national pride. The championship is being organised by the West Bengal State Handball Association (WBSHA) in conjunction with Techno India Group, under the auspices of the Handball Association India. Chinsurah, with its world-class facilities and vibrant sporting culture, is poised to host an outstanding national tournament. The state-of-the-art Netaji Subhas Sports Arena now boasts four championship courts. Teams from States, Union Territories, Services, and Boards compete in eight pools, with the top two from each pool proceeding to the pre-quarterfinals, followed by knockout rounds. The stakes are high, since the top eight teams from this championship will advance to the forthcoming National Games in Meghalaya, and their accomplishments in this competition will also be considered for Asian Games team selection. Speaking on the occasion, Satyam Roychowdhury, Managing Director, Techno India Group, stated that he is overjoyed that they have brought this kind of national event to Chinsura. This is his hometown, and he hopes this is the start of many major sporting events held here.
