News Desk. News Nation 360: The first edition of "Glamour & Spices," a colourful Mother's Day event honouring motherhood, inclusivity, and women's empowerment, was held in Kolkata by the Kolkata Women's Business Alliance (KWBA). The community-driven event, which was organised by KWBA founder members Soma Chakraborty (Co-Founder & MD of Goodace Hospital), Piyali Goswami, Swati Das Chakraborty, Moumita Mukherjee, and Sunanda Banerjee, included two separate competitive segments that were assessed by a panel of expert juries that included fashion designers Shantanu Guha Thakurta and Abhishek Ray and culinary expert Bipasha Mukherjee. The Sunrise-sponsored "Mayer Haater Ranna" cooking competition, which welcomed both women and enthusiastic male cooks to participate, was a significant highlight. A multigenerational Indo-Western fusion fashion display, which featured exquisite collections from Sristi Boutique, MR Creation, Appie Blossom, and KolkataNama, also featured models between the ages of two and sixty. The event effectively offered an inclusive networking platform for women to mix talent, grace, and business desire, embodying the traditional saying "Je Raandhe, Shey Chul-o Baandhe" (she who cooks also binds her hair). The organisers promised even greater editions in the future.
