News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Yuvraj Singh Centres of Excellence (YSCE), in collaboration with the Merlin Group, successfully organised their week-long High-Performance Summer Clinic from July 20 to 26, 2025, at the YSCE High-Performance Centre, Club Pavilion, Merlin Rise, Rajarhat, Kolkata. This intensive training program brought together young cricketers of Kolkata and Northeast India, with emphasis on four key pillars: technical development, match readiness, fitness enhancement, and mental toughness. Training was provided by YSCE-approved coaches through organised, age- and ability-based modules to provide individualised development. An open competition at the clinic for the best participants saw them rewarded with one-year scholarship awards made by the Merlin Group in a display of confidence in their ability and commitment. Scholarship awardees are boys Gurudev Singh (15, Kolkata - Group A) and Agnish Adak (8, Kolkata - Group B), and girls Sunita Behra (15, Odisha), Affifa Zahra (10, Kolkata), and Ayuti Dutta (15, Kolkata). These scholarships will enable long-term access to quality training, supporting the development of cricket in the area. The clinic ended with an award ceremony in recognition of stand-out performers based not just on technical performance but also on attitude, progress, and general commitment, stressing overall development as well as sporting excellence. Commenting on the success of the initiative, Saket Mohta, Managing Director, Merlin Group, stated that their faith in the potential of young talent from this area has been strengthened by the clinic. This week's reaction demonstrates both the need and the promise of their aim to use YSCE to provide access to top-notch cricket training. They are eager to continue this trend. Another significant step in YSCE's continuous mission to provide top-tier development opportunities for up-and-coming cricket players throughout India is the High-Performance Summer Clinic.
