News Desk, News Nation 360 : With her upcoming concert, Gaaner Aitijhya, talented soprano Aitijhya Roy captivated the audience with a captivating musical trip. Bengal's rich cultural and musical heritage spanning genres was honoured at the event, which took place in Kolkata. Speaking about the upcoming program, Aitijhya Roy shared that she has always used music as a means of relating to people and Bengal's enduring culture. She wants to honour the origins, the nostalgia, and the changing sounds that make up their shared cultural identity through Gaaner Aitijhya. Aitijhya Roy, a classically trained and Rabindra Sangeet singer, learned music under Banasree Dey and continued classical training under Pandit Tushar Dutta. She spent 16 years learning Rabindra Sangeet under Apala Basu Sen has, since 2011, learned classical and raga-based pieces under Deborshee Bhattacharya and Rathijit Bhattacharya. Recipient of the National Scholarship in Rabindra Sangeet in 2018, she is a B-High graded Radio (Betar) artist. Aitijhya has contributed her voice to various Bengali jingles and performed for the Bangla ZEE5 web series "Bibhishon." In 2015, her debut album "Poran Khule Daak" was released, and she appeared on various TV programs frequently. With her solo recital on "Gaaner Aitijhya," she presented a mixed repertoire of Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrulgeeti, Dwijendrageeti, folk songs (Matir Sur), raga numbers, contemporary classics by Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Shyamal Mitra, R.D. Burman, and contemporary bands such as Mohiner Ghoraguli. Other songs that she sang include "Ami Banglay Gaan Gai," "Kichudin Mone Mone," "Bhromor Koiyo," "Anandalokey," "Tarey Boley Dio," "Prithibi Ta Naki Chhoto Hotey Hotey," "Chiro Sakha Hey," and "Dhono Dhanyo Pushpo Bhora." Her music spans the classical training and contemporary Bengali musical tradition, enjoying a broad listenership.
