SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk, News Nation 360 : People are increasingly using alternate coping mechanisms to deal with emotional stress in a time when mental health is finally taking centre stage. People are discovering new ways to rediscover tranquillity, such as through creative hobbies or trip treatment. Music therapy is a strong and compassionate method of treatment that uses musical interventions to address psychological and emotional issues. It is one of these practices that is resonating. Ameya Dabli, the founder of the Ekam Satt Foundation, has been a music therapy trendsetter in India for close to two decades, employing his art form to give emotional solace to the armed forces well before the phrase became mainstream. At the helm of a live band of 25 personnel, he has travelled extensively through rugged landscapes—from cantonments to border posts—conducting concerts that bring succour to soldiers, including landmark events such as Kargil Vijay Diwas. His dedication and efforts have been noticed at the highest echelons, with Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan himself extending his appreciation for his efforts in providing emotional support to frontline troops. Ameya is now on a grand-scale spiritual music
tour titled "Krishnaa – Music, Bliss & Beyond," which has fetched housefull crowds in several cities. The tour will next pick up with an extremely immersive concert experience in Kolkata on August 2nd at Science City, promising not only entertainment but an intense, spiritually elevating experience. Speaking about the therapeutic power of music, Ameya shared that Indian music has long been used for healing purposes. Music can do magic when listened to in the proper format; it can touch the soul in a manner that words cannot. People use music to celebrate when they're pleased and to cry when they're unhappy. Their emotional fulcrum is music. Renowned psychologist Dr. Meghana Daftary, who treats adults with autism, and clinical psychologist Dr. Vishakha Punjani have informed him how the revisions his team made have helped the patient feel more at ease and focused.
