News Desk, News Nation 360 : Recently, at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan, the inaugural Bengal Shopping Festival 2024, a shopping extravaganza organised by the Confederation of West Bengal Trade Association (CWBTA) in association with West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Limited (WBIDC), came to a grand conclusion. The festival's goal was to make West Bengal known as a destination for worldwide shopping while showcasing the area's booming retail and business potential. Rajesh Pandey, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of MSME&T, Government of West Bengal; Vandana Yadav, MD, WBIDC; and Manoj Pant, Chief Secretary, Government of West Bengal, all provided insightful remarks during the occasion. Commenting on the successful expo, Manoj Pant, Chief Secretary to the Government of West Bengal, stated that it has taken a lot of planning

and teamwork, so he is ecstatic to see the amazing result. His deepest gratitude and congrats went out to everyone involved in this event, as well as to all the attendees who helped make it a success. All of the rooms have had outstanding performances and displays, but the Geographical Indication (GI) product presentation, which highlights the distinctive workmanship and legacy of the state, has been particularly noteworthy. With that in mind, he does not doubt that this event will continue to develop over the next few years, reaching a wider audience and drawing more attendees. With over 1.5 lakh people over five days, the expo produced sales estimated to be worth INR 100 crore. With more than 430 exhibitors from a range of industries, such as fashion, electronics, handicrafts, and food, the event offered a comprehensive experience for both consumers and businesses. It also featured interactive seminars and cultural performances. The exhibition effectively exhibited Bengal's inventiveness, diversity, and retail prowess, solidifying the state's status as a key participant in India's expanding consumer market. The state has made a significant step towards connecting regional companies with the global retail ecosystem, promoting economic growth, and enhancing West Bengal's standing as a top shopping destination with the Bengal Shopping Festival.
