News Desk, News Nation 360 : With a series of powerful activities focused on the global theme of 'United by Unique,' which highlights the unique yet common experiences of cancer survivors and fighters, Desun Hospital commemorated World Cancer Day 2025. The Oncology team performed a balloon release ceremony, staff members staged a flash mob in the OPD, and medical oncologist Dr. Debanti Banerjee gave a health awareness presentation. Patients receiving treatment and cancer survivors shared their motivational stories, emphasising the strength of perseverance. Music therapy is introduced as a mainstay of Desun Hospital's program to present holistic cancer care. Bhorer Pakhi, an artist collective led by voice artist Swapna Dey, recently rendered a poignant version of Rabindranath Tagore's poetry, recited and sung for the benefit of cancer patients and their families. It marked the beginning of a planned monthly collaboration between

Bhorer Pakhi and Desun Hospital to regularly conduct music therapy workshops. In attendance for this teleconference was a crème de la crème of oncologists and specialists including medical oncologists Dr Debanti Banerjee, Dr Sreya Mullik, and Dr Debajyoti Maji; nuclear medicine specialists Dr Manoranjan P Chauhan and Dr Shreya Ghosh; radiation oncologists Dr Shreya Chatterjee and Dr Sharmistha Roy; head & neck surgeon Dr Ramanuj Ghosh; and onco surgeons Dr Samujjwal Das, Dr Avijit Mondal, and Dr Ipseet Mishra. The programme ended with a felicitation ceremony honouring survivors of cancer. This ceremony has been held as a tribute to the comprehensive care that Desun Hospital extends in terms of treating the patient as well as their family emotionally. Desun Hospital continues to support innovative patient care initiatives and encourages an atmosphere of hope and resilience for all who are afflicted with cancer.  Sajal Dutta, Chairman & Managing Director, Desun Hospitals, reaffirmed the hospital’s commitment to comprehensive cancer care and stated that beyond just providing medical care, they at Desun Hospital think that the patient comes first. In addition to treating the illness, cancer care involves fostering mental and spiritual well-being. They can better ensure that their patients receive the emotional and psychological support they require by including music therapy in their holistic care paradigm. They are pleased to work with Bhorer Pakhi to provide cancer patients with courage and comfort.
