Accompanied by guests such as Shatrughna Sinha (India's Consul General in Germany), FC Ingolstadt CEO Dietmar Beiersdorfer, and former Ghanaian and Indian football players, Matthäus was upbeat about the future of the league, reiterating teamwork, mutual development, and taking advantage of expertise worldwide to create a platform that will provide aspiring footballers from Bengal with top-notch coaching, facilities, and global visibility. The league is expected to launch in December 2025 with eight franchise clubs across various Bengal districts, looking to merge Bengal's rich football history with a contemporary global structure, ushering a new age for Indian football.
