News Desk, News Nation 360 : The spooky times have returned. The eagerly awaited trailer for the Bengali horror anthology Bhutopurbo in Kolkata. The film's celebrated ensemble cast, which included Amrita Chattopadhyay, Sandipta Sen, Satyam Bhattacharya, Saptarshi Maulik, and Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, attended the intimate yet glitzy event to celebrate the start of a new era in Bengali horror cinema. Co-directors Kakoli Ghosh and Avinab Mukherjee stated that, beyond merely being a scary movie, Bhutopurbo pays a moving homage to Bengal's rich ghost story literature. Their goal in reimagining these timeless works for a modern audience is to arouse a
nuanced blend of interest, anxiety, and nostalgia. They were extremely lucky to work with a cast that gave their characters a great deal of depth and passion. Bhutopurbo is a spine-chilling anthology movie. It is written and directed by Kakoli Ghosh and Avinab Mukherjee. The film integrates three traditional horror tales seamlessly. These are 'Monihara' by Rabindranath Tagore, 'Taranath Tantrik' by Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay, and 'Shikar' by Manoj Sen. Indoshree Production supports the movie. It seeks to recreate the atmosphere of traditional Bengali ghost tales. It applies a contemporary style of filmmaking. Satyam Bhattacharya plays Phanibhushan in 'Monihara'. Amrita Chattopadhyay portrays the lovely Manimalika. 'Taranath Tantrik' stars Rupanjana Maitra as the enigmatic Matu Pagli. Saptarshi Maulik portrays the cult mystic Taranath Tantrik. In the final segment, 'Shikar,' Sandipta Sen plays the mysterious Tilottoma. Suhotra Mukhopadhyay portrays Purnendu. The team responsible for its creativity includes Sujoy for additional story, script, and dialogue. Soumyadipta Vicky Guin is the Director of Photography. Subhajit Singha is the Film Editor. Dipayan Roy has edited the Trailer, Promo, and Song. Colourist Prosenjit Banerjee completed the visual aesthetic. Music Director and Background Score Composer Danu Saikat Singha composed the spine-tingling score and music arrangement. Bhutopurbo will have a big-screen theatrical release in June 2025. The movie boasts a strong story, excellent performance, and a thrilling visual aesthetic. It will prove to be a stunning addition to Bengali cinema's legacy of ghost stories.
