Hindi Short-story Writer Mamta Kalia & Manipuri Author Arambam Ongbi Memchoubi will be Honoured with Akashdeep

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Amar Ujala's highest Shabd Samman for 2025, the "Akashdeep" Award, will be given to renowned Manipuri novelist Arambam Ongbi Memchoubi in the area of non-Hindi Indian languages and renowned Hindi short story writer Mamta Kalia in Hindi for their all-encompassing contribution to literary life. Notably, 1975 was designated as International Women's Year by the United Nations. The UN has set aside 2026 to honour women's contributions to agriculture, while 2025 is its Golden Jubilee year. In this sense, the prize has a unique distinction because it honours these two female innovators. A ₹500,000 monetary reward, a citation, and a Ganga sculpture as a symbol are all part of the honour. In addition to Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Bengali, Odia, Malayalam, and Gujarati, Manipuri was selected this year under Akashdeep. Girish Karnad, Bhalchandra Nemade, Shankha Ghosh, Pratibha Ray, M.T. Vasudevan Nair, and Sitanshu Yashaschandra were among the non-Hindi Indian language recipients of the Akashdeep Award; Namvar Singh, Gyanranjan, Vishwanath Tripathi, Shekhar Joshi, Vinod Kumar Shukla, and Govind Mishra were among the Hindi recipients. The Amar Ujala Shabd Samman-25 has declared the winners of the Best Hindi Work Award for the literature of the year 2024. Savita Singh has been awarded the Best Work Award in the poetry section for her work named Vaasna Ek Nadi Ka Naam Hai. Naish Hasan has been awarded the Best Work Award in the Non-Fiction section for the book named Mutah. In the Fiction section, the Best Work Award has been awarded to the short story compilation named Curfew Ki Raat by Shahadat Kumar. The translation of the Odia publication Charu Chivar Aur Charya by Sujata Shiven has been awarded the Bhasha-Bandhu Award in the Hindi Translation section of the Best Hindi Work Award of the Amar Ujala Shabd Samman-25. Manish Yadav has bagged the Thaap Award for a First-time writer in the Best Hindi Work Award of the Amar Ujala Shabd Samman-25 for the book named Sudhaargrih Ki Malikainen. Each of the winners of these awards will be given a cash prize of rupees one hundred thousand.
