SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360: The one-day JIS Education Expo 2026 – Durgapur Edition was successfully organised by JIS Group Educational Initiatives, creating a centralised academic platform at the regional hub to help thousands of students make educated career and higher education transitions. A distinguished group of legislators and local officials, including Sri Chandra Sekhar Banerjee (MLA, Durgapur Purba Assembly Constituency), Sri Abul Kalam Azad Islam (Commissioner, Durgapur Municipal Corporation), Sardar Simarpreet Singh (Director, JIS Group), Sri Bidyut Majumder (Deputy Director, JIS Group) and Dr Pralay Ganguly (Principal, GNIHM), officially opened the mega expo. Students and parents from more than 130 schools in the important industrial and rural belts of Paschim Bardhaman, Purba Bardhaman, Bankura, Bolpur, Dhanbad, and Purulia enthusiastically participated in the event, which was designed to democratise high-quality educational counselling beyond urban boundaries. With 39 different member universities providing 185 different diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs to more than 50,000 students nationally, the expansive expo featured a vast academic environment. Through direct, in-person contacts in interactive institutional pavilions, prospective students and their guardians gained individualised clarity on admission procedures, stream selection, developing global industry trends, and flexible scholarship options. A formal felicitation ceremony honouring the academic leaders of Classes 10 and 12 from the participating school networks was one of the day's highlights. Sardar Taranjit Singh, Managing Director of JIS Group, highlighted the expo's significance as a crossroads where rural and suburban aspirations meet global opportunities, highlighting the organisation's long-standing institutional mandate to methodically develop the next generation of regional leaders, technological innovators, and professionals prepared for the workforce.
