SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Laser Power & Infra Limited, an integrated manufacturer of power cables, conductors, and other specialised products and components to the power transmission and distribution industry in India, has announced the receipt of new orders from NTPC, Kanpur Electric Supply Company Ltd (KESCo), and Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (JDVVNL) totalling 836 crore. These projects are part of the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), and each one requires the corporation to offer its in-house-made power cables, conductors, and system-strengthening materials. Laser Power & Infra Ltd, an integrated Kolkata-based power cables and conductors manufacturer, has received new orders worth ₹836 crore of predominantly manufacturing-led, turnkey EPC utility projects anchored in its own HT/LT power cables, AB cables, overhead conductors and system-augmentation materials. The major orders

include ₹422.11 crore from KESCo, Uttar Pradesh, for system strengthening, ₹212.06 crore from NTPC for loss-reduction works in Udhampur and Reasi (Jammu & Kashmir) and ₹202.13 crore from JDVVNL, Rajasthan, for feeder segregation and infrastructure development, all designed as end-to-end EPC jobs wherein the company’s in-house products form the core. Incorporated in 1988, Laser Power & Infra operates three manufacturing units with a combined installed capacity of 73,100 MT as of March 31, 2025, located in West Bengal, supplying India’s power T&D sector. The company has filed a draft red herring prospectus for a ₹1,200 crore IPO (₹800 crore fresh issue and ₹400 crore OFS) and reported FY25 operating revenue of about ₹2,570 crore with profit after tax of roughly ₹106 crore, reflecting strong growth ahead of its planned listing. Deepak Goel, Chairman & Managing Director, Laser Power & Infra, stated that over the last three decades, they've created the Company as a manufacturing-driven organisation with strong backward integration, from the production of aluminium and alloy wire rods to their own XLPE/cross-linked polyethylene and polyvinyl chloride ("PVC") compounds, as well as the drums used to pack cables. This integrative method reduces costs, improves supply chain reliability, and ensures secure delivery of their power cables, reinforcing their objective of end-to-end operational management and seamless customer execution. While these projects are completed turnkey, the actual value is derived from the volumes of cables and conductors supplied by their integrated operations in West Bengal. EPC merely allows them to transport and install their own products to the same standards that they maintain inside the facility.
