
News Desk, News Nation 360 : To commemorate the Chinese New Year, the Chinese Consulate in Kolkata recently threw a spectacular event in the city. In keeping with the long-standing ties between China and India, the event commemorated the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations and welcomed the "Year of the Snake." The event gave attendees a unique taste of Chinese culture through cultural acts, traditional Chinese music, and Chinese culinary presentations. In addition to celebrating the Lunar New Year, the occasion deepened the friendship and collaboration that have existed between China and India for a long time. On behalf of Consul General Su Wei, Acting Consul General Qin Yong wished everyone a happy New Year. In his remarks, he emphasised the significance of the previous year in bolstering ties between China and India and brought up the significant meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping, which pledged to deepen the two nations' relationship. In his speech celebrating the achievements of 2024 China, Qin Yong highlighted a 5% annual growth in GDP at 135 trillion yuan. He also highlighted advancements in space exploration, renewable energy, artificial intelligence, and the outstanding performance of Chinese athletes at the Paris Olympics. He agreed that cultural exchange is a vital factor, in reiterating the joint celebration of the 100th anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore's visit to China. This program included two-way exchanges with scholars, artists, and youngsters from Eastern India and China which helped to improve mutual understanding and cooperation between two civilizations. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of China-India diplomatic relations in 2025, Qin Yong stressed that by implementing the reached consensus of leadership of both sides, the China-India friendship will go further and advance bilateral cooperation as well.
