SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : In the long history of Bengali literature, culture, and humanist philosophy, Rabindranath Tagore holds a special and enduring position. In addition to influencing Bengali intellect, he solidified Indian culture on the international scene through his poetry, songs, stories, essays, and philosophy. His artistic creations remain a timeless source of inspiration for freedom, humanity, and original ideas. Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay first edited the journal Bangadarshan to push Bengali literature towards progress and perfection. Rabindranath Tagore

deeply followed this lofty ideal and recognised the greatness of Bankimchandra’s vision. This important realisation made Tagore take the initiative to revive that journal for a new era. He did not want to let the publication get stuck in the past. He wished to give it the dimension of timelessness as a literary model. Many research works have already been done concerning the journals Sadhana and Bharati. But until now, no comprehensive research volume had been prepared on the monthly journal Nabaparyay Bangadarshan. This is a very significant lapse because, among all the periodicals led by him, Tagore spent more time editing this particular one. Academician Dr Shibani Bandyopadhyay undertook the task of writing this worthy research volume to fill in the void. The research volume is presented before the readers in fourteen fully complete chapters. This chapter is named Preface/Bangadarshan of Bankimchandra and His Time: Through Rabindranath’s Eyes. Tagore’s outlook on the original form of the journal has been mentioned in this chapter. The importance of the journal in shaping Bengali literature has also been cited. The author was inspired to write this book by the genuine passion of Subodh Kumar Bandyopadhyay, and Prabodh Kumar Bandyopadhyay offered support in gathering data. The final conceptualisation of the work was finished at the request and demand of Shilpita Bandyopadhyay and Sunrita Bandyopadhyay. "Rabikare Nabarupe Bangadarshan" is the book's title.
