Dr Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata, provided significant insights during the conversation. Dr. Andrew Fleming, in his speech, emphasized the importance of understanding, support, and inclusivity for individuals with neurodiversity and mental health challenges. He shared his personal experiences with dyspraxia and dyslexia and called for breaking down the stigma surrounding these conditions. He advocated for creating inclusive environments in education and the workplace, fostering equity, offering reasonable adjustments, and building robust support systems to ensure that everyone can thrive. Ayanabh Debgupta shared that Manipal Hospitals is integrating psychological support at every stage of treatment to address the critical role of mental health in the healing process. The hospitals have dedicated mental health departments providing holistic care for children and adults. They are also actively engaged with the community to raise awareness about mental health and foster a culture of well-being.
