SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360: The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) Kolkata Chapter, in association with the West Bengal Fire & Emergency Services Department, is organising the Fire Safety Connect 2026 on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Desi Lane (Metro Cinema, Esplanade, Kolkata). The event will bring together restaurant owners and fire officials in a consultative meeting to foster a better understanding of processes and ease of doing business for the organised food service sector. Worth ₹5.69 lakh crore and comprising more than 5 lakh organised eatery outlets, the hospitality sector is a vital segment of the Indian economy. At the connect session, restaurant proprietors and hoteliers can interact directly with fire officials to address pending issues related to Fire Safety Certificates, Fire NOC, renewal of Fire Safety Certificates, sanction of plans, and other guideline-related clarifications. “Such platforms, where F&B stakeholders can directly interact with the fire department, enable the establishment of a robust public safety framework without any procedural hassles. Apart from helping restaurant owners stay updated on the latest regulatory requirements, these consultations also ensure effective enforcement of fire safety measures across the city’s restaurant sector,” said Piyush Kankaria, Kolkata chapter head, NRAI.
