News Desk, News Nation 360: Celebrating the cultural imperative of festive inclusion, YES BANK, in collaboration with the Satyam Roychowdhury Foundation and Rotary Club of Calcutta Metropolitan East, hosted the fourth edition distribution ceremony of its flagship community welfare initiative ‘Sobar Pujo, Durga Pujo’ at G.D. Birla Sabhaghar in Kolkata. Graced by the presence of Chief Guest Rtn. Shyamashree Sen (Past District Governor Rotary & District Literacy Chair) and school principals, teachers, civil society delegates and community leaders, the statewide program gifted over 12,000 new sets of clothes to underprivileged children in West Bengal as a mark of continuous expansion from 4,700 recipients in 2024 and 9,000 in 2025. Backed by bank employees, corporate partners, academic institutions, grassroots NGOs and neighbourhood housing societies, the initiative resonates with Bengal's age-old cultural ethos of notun jama (new festive garments) in ensuring that socio-economic deprivation will not deprive vulnerable children of dignity and joy during Durga Puja while institutionalising an expanding model of community-driven corporate social responsibility.
