SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk, News Nation 360 : Bengali Durga Puja is never complete without the dhaak's rhythm, the fragrances of celebratory food, and the warmth of the community. This year, from September 27 to October 2, Orko's welcomes everyone to celebrate the season with a lavish Pujo-special buffet at City Centre 1, Salt Lake. A festive à la carte meal will be served for dinners from 6:00 PM to 12:30 AM, while guests may enjoy a large buffet spread for lunch between 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM. While Saptami and Nabami will cost ₹1399 + taxes, Panchami, Shosti, Ashtami, and Dashami will cost ₹1299 + taxes for the celebratory buffet meal. At ₹2000 + taxes for two persons, customers can savour the festive à la carte meal for dinner. The banquet starts with rejuvenating welcome drinks such as Kalakhatta Gandhoraj Lebur Shorbot, providing a tarty, nostalgic flavour, and Kachha Aam, Ada-o-Kanchalankar Panio—a spicy mix of raw mango, ginger, and green chilli that awakens the taste buds. Starters offer a wonderful combination of comfort and thrill: light, crispy Bok Phooler Bora, spiced Paneer Cigarello Roll, and golden-fried Dorji Parar Macher Cutlet with Kasundi that
reflects the food streets of Kolkata. Meat enthusiasts will relish the smoky Shekanja Murgh Tikka and filling Mocha Murgir Chop, full of flavours and heritage. The course meal reeks of indulgence with the famous Kolkata Style Mutton Biryani—aromatic rice coupled with succulent mutton, egg, potato, and beresta—as the showstopper, accompanied by creamy Chingrir Malai Curry and meaty Awadhi Murgh Chaap. The comfort food-like Macher Matha Diya Subzi carries a warmth reminiscent of home. Vegetarians are served soulful classics such as Hing Narkol Cholar Dal, celebratory Ghee Bhaja Dhokar Dalna, and soothing Aloo Phulgobi Roast, accompanied by Jamai Jhuri Aloo Bhaja, Begun Bosonto, and zesty chutneys bringing crunch and zest. The dessert climax is unadulterated bliss, with the caramel richness of Gurer Garam Payesh, soft Rosogolla, indulgent Gulab Jamun, and cool Misti Pan, so that each guest leaves in a happy mood and the happiness of an authentic mishti mukh.
