SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk, News Nation 360 : With famed director Sekhar Das at the helm, Swabhumi Entertainment formally unveiled its upcoming project, "Pagla Ghora," a potent and moving version of the renowned drama by Badal Sircar. This piece honours the well-known dramatist on the anniversary of his birth this year. Dr Prabir Bhowmik & Bipasha Ghoshal of Swabhumi Entertainment stated that Badal Sircar's theatre was always more than just a show; it was a combination of philosophy, poetry, and protest. This movie is their modest attempt to pay tribute to Pagla Ghora, who has been a constant reflection of society. "Pagla Ghora," which he wrote in the 1960s, is one of Sircar's strongest plays. It's a searing denunciation of patriarchal hypocrisy and emotional suppression. Sircar made his revolutionary mark on Indian theatre, particularly with his innovative Third Theatre movement of the 1970s. Sircar took theatre out of the predictable framework and into society's very centre. His plays continue to be relevant today. The movie wishes to take one of his finest stories to a new audience. National Award-winning director Sekhar Das will adapt "Pagla Ghora" to the big screen. He was deeply involved with the Third Theatre movement and successfully produced many of Sircar's plays. He wishes to keep the play's rawness intact but widen the canvas in terms of films. The movie features powerhouse actress Gargee Roychowdhury in the lead role. A star cast of actors joins her, such as Rajatava Dutta, Sujan Mukhopadhyay, Chandreyee Ghosh, Rwitobroto Mukherjee, Dirghoee Pal, Srijata Saha, and Jayanta Hore. All the actors play important roles in revealing the multi-layered plot of the play.
