SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The St. Xavier's College (Calcutta) Alumni Association (SXCCAA), in partnership with the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, successfully organised the Mega Health & Eye Check-Up Camp 2026 on Sunday at the Raghabpur Campus of St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata, reaffirming the Xaverian spirit of service and the guiding motto "Nihil Ultra" (Nothing Beyond). More than 1,100 people from Raghabpur and the nearby villages of Bakeswar, Magurkhali, Shalpukur, Debipur, Gosthomath, and Paikhala benefited from the camp. To close significant healthcare gaps in these underprivileged rural communities, beneficiaries received free medical consultations and diagnostic services in the fields of dentistry, general medicine, paediatrics, ENT, and eye care. Dominic Savio, SJ, President of SXCCAA and Principal of St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata, opened the program in front of Dilip Mondal, Hon'ble Minister of State for Transport, Government of West Bengal, and MLA, Bishnupur (South 24 Parganas). The effort involved active participation from senior government officials, medical experts, faculty, student volunteers, and alumni. Speaking on the occasion, Rev. Dr Dominic Savio, SJ, stated that serving others is where true education finds fulfilment. They reaffirmed their dedication to compassion, decency, and inclusive growth for those who most need care through programs like this health camp.
