News Desk. News Nation 360: On April 17, 2026, Desun Hospital and the Election Commission of India (ECI) presented "Care Beyond Hospitals: Empowering Every Voter with Accessibility," an accessibility program, at the Press Club in Kolkata. The purpose of the event, which was organised under the ECI's Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program, was to guarantee that people with mobility issues and senior citizens could exercise their right to vote in the 2026 West Bengal Legislative Assembly elections in a dignified manner. Desun Hospital provided wheelchairs to be placed at polling places in seats like Beliaghata (164) and Shyampukur (166) in order to offer useful on-the-ground assistance. EC Nodal Officers Biswajit Dasgupta and Shreya Som joined senior medical leaders, such as Group Director Dr. Saumitra Bharadwaj and Senior Medical Director Dr Sujoy Ranjan Deb, in highlighting the critical role healthcare institutions play in bolstering participatory democracy. Chairman and MD Sajal Datta reiterated that the program shows Desun's commitment to empowering lives and making sure that physical obstacles do not prevent grassroots democratic engagement.
