News Desk, News Nation 360 : Medella Karkinos Oncology Institute recently conducted a high-impact Continuing Medical Education (CME) program in Barrackpore, North 24 Parganas, to tackle the growing prevalence of cancer. The program was aimed at providing clinicians with the latest knowledge to manage intricate gynecologic cancers, with comprehensive academic sessions on "Treatment of Recurrent Cervical Cancer – Options & Advances" and "High-Risk Endometrial Cancer – Molecular Profiling & Precision Medicine." More than 60 physicians participated, including Dr. Sudoy Halder, Dr. Sandipan Chowdhury, Dr. Sayoni Bhanja, Dr. Palash De, Dr. Chiranjit Mukherjee, Dr. Arijit Sen, and Dr. Kazi Sazzad Munir, along with gynaecology, medicine, and surgery specialists, providing a platform for collaboration to share advancements in cancer care. To improve outcomes for patients with high-risk gynaecologic tumours, the workshops focused on the significance of precision medicine, molecular diagnostics, and targeted medicines. The new technologies' potential to increase access to high-quality cancer care was another topic of discussion. Additionally, the CME emphasised the value of continuing medical education in keeping physicians up to date with the swift advancements in oncology. Dr. Akther Jawade, Director East, Karkinos Healthcare, stated that cervical and endometrial cancers are the main causes of the rising cancer prevalence, especially among women. Particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, this increase emphasises the critical need for early detection, routine cancer screening, and better access to oncology care. The goal of Medella Karkinos is to address this issue using community outreach, education, and awareness programs in addition to providing cutting-edge clinical care.
