Tricolour Productions Staged Saptapadi in Kolkata

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Tricolour Productions Pvt. Ltd. produced the drama "Saptapadi" as a tribute to legendary duo Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen, based on the novel by Tarashankar Bandyopadhyay and the film by Ajoy Kar, with the play being written by Ujjwal Chattopadhyay. The story is set in the Second World War era and centers on the love between Krishnendu Mukherjee, a medical student, and Rina Brown, an Anglo-Indian Christian medical aspirant who become close after a play but face obstacles to marriage due to religious differences and Krishnendu's father's disapproval, only to meet again years later in a military hospital. This play revisiting the emotions of the 1961 film and incorporating adaptations from works by Shakespeare, Chekov, and Tagore. Actress Payel Sarkar has played the role of Rina Brown, Dolan Roy has portraited Kunti, Deep Bhattacharya has p;ayed Krishnendu and Referend Krishnaswami along with other eminent actors.
