SERVES FOR NATION
News Desk, News Nation 360 : To stop the selling of fake Goodknight LV refills in the area, West Bengal Police and Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL), the firm that makes Goodknight, the top household insecticide brand in India, carried out many searches throughout North 24 Parganas and South 24 Parganas. The operations, which were supported by GCPL's investigation agency, are an important step in stopping the market's proliferation of counterfeit mosquito repellent goods. The local police and investigation teams raided a number of retail and stocking locations suspected of trafficking in counterfeit goods based on actionable intelligence. A sizable amount of counterfeit Goodknight materials was seized as a result of the raids, suggesting a well-run business engaged in the production and distribution of phoney goods. Acting on the inputs, the enforcement teams of North 24 Parganas seized a large consignment of purportedly counterfeit Goodknight Flash mosquito repellent refills from a refilling unit at Ali Haidar Road, Titagarh, consisting of 2,540 ready-for-sale twin refill packs of 90 ml capacity, 600 filled bottles, 1,860 empty bottles, 6,200 labels, and 6,500 carton boxes, subsequently followed by 1,950 twin refill packs from a stockist unit in the vicinity on NS Path, Titagarh, 500 twin refill packs from the supplier Mira Store in Khardah, 67 twin refill packs from Acharya Stores in Belgharia, and 165 twin refill packs and 1 machine combo pack from Maa Tara Bhandar in Panihati. The South 24 Parganas district yielded 569 twin refill packs from Maa Basanti Bhandar on Kakdwip Station Road and 255 pieces, including loose ones, from Basanti Stores on Kali Mandir Road in the vicinity of Kakdwip, hinting at some form of local distribution. In order to address counterfeiting and copyright infringement, FIRs have been filed against the accused under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 63 of the Copyright Act, 1957. Authorities are currently monitoring the supply chain and distribution links to prevent the further circulation of these dangerous duplicate products in West Bengal and neighbouring states, sending a clear deterrent message and highlighting GCPL's declared commitment to protecting consumer trust and product safety. Commenting on the issue, Ashwin Moorthy, CMO, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, stated that the FMCG business is quite concerned about the proliferation of fake goods throughout the nation. In addition to being prohibited, counterfeit or similar goods pose a health risk to people. Goodknight, a market leader in the home insecticide category, is one example of how GCPL uses a sizable portion of its earnings to create cutting-edge products that keep improving customer service. They cooperate with their distribution network, local government agencies, and customers to conduct routine quality checks of their products. Local distributors, makers, and retailers of counterfeit Goodknight goods in the state would face consequences as a result of this collaboration with the West Bengal police authority.
