SERVES FOR NATION

News Desk. News Nation 360: A structural move toward more extensive and institutionalised maternity care in India is shown in Care Health Insurance's announcement of a notable 37% year-over-year increase in women's health claims for FY26. According to Care Health's research, maternity claims are growing more expensive, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, which currently account for 60% of all reported maternity claims, even though national data indicates that institutional deliveries have reached 97.3%. A significant demographic change is also taking place, with women 35 and older accounting for 12% of claim volumes but 18% of the overall financial outlay. This suggests that later-age pregnancies are associated with increased medical complexity and expense. Overall, maternity claim costs have increased by 25% over the past two years, despite more effective treatment pathways, as seen by the fact that 82% of patients are released within five days. These statistics highlight a shift from linear development to high-intensity financial exposure, according to Executive Director Manish Dodeja, who urged people to reevaluate their insurance coverage to match these changing healthcare expenses and nutritional weaknesses.
