Energy will provide battery swapping stations that will enable the infrastructure needed for the EV fleet to operate effectively. Yulu has expanded to Kolkata, marking its entry into Eastern India and its 13th market. The company has collaborated with Electrie, a new-age energy and mobility brand, to deploy Yulu Dex EVs in key areas of Kolkata, including Topsia, Ballygunge, Park Street, and Jadavpur. This strategic move leverages Kolkata's dense urban layout, growing e-commerce and quick commerce demand, and an environmentally-conscious population. Electrie will onboard around 1,000 delivery riders across platforms like Swiggy, Zomato, Blinkit, Zepto, and Amazon in the next six months to build a cleaner mobility ecosystem of the city. This partnership will be part of Yulu's franchise initiative called Yulu Business Partner (YBP), which has already been implemented in cities like Indore, Kochi, Tirunelveli, Pondicherry, and Vadodara.
