News Desk, News Nation 360 : The CII West Bengal State Council unveiled a detailed agenda for driving sustainable economic growth and development in West Bengal, covering several projects, goals, and initiatives. Debashis Dutta, Chairman, CII West Bengal, praised and congratulated the State Government on its pro-active steps towards economic growth, infrastructure development, and social welfare programs like Swasthya Sathi, Lakshmir Bhandar, Kanyashree, and Duare Sarkar, which have played an important role in empowering women and healthcare at the grassroots level. He underscored the achievement of the BGBS investor summit and policy implementation in favour of industrial parks and economic corridors, also lauding the single-window synergy portal to enhance investor confidence. CII has put forth a detailed vision report that has outlined existing and potential opportunities of the state and the measures required to unlock its full potential. Debashis Dutta stressed that, as West Bengal is the country's second-largest MSME hub, CII will closely work with the government to fortify the ecosystem by linking MSMEs to large industries, building business linkages, involving them with CII's centres of excellence, and raising GeM & TReDs portals. CII has also suggested a cluster-based strategy for market linkages and capacity building in the engineering, gems and jewellery, textile, and leather sectors, and suggested a district development plan, particularly for North Bengal, to facilitate regional growth. The council also unveiled several projects aimed at tackling certain issues and demands in the state. These initiatives covered a wide range of topics, with a major focus on infrastructure, manufacturing & MSME, tourism & hospitality, agriculture & food processing, and healthcare. Their main areas of focus would likewise be the state's sunshine sectors, logistics and defence. To bolster its discussions this year, the Council will also collaborate with the foundry association, logistics, defence, textiles, leather, and gems & jewellery. The Council works in close partnership with the West Bengal government to promote development and draw capital to key areas.
