Muthoot Pappachan Foundation and Mission Smile & Techno India Dama Hospital are Offering Free Cleft Surgery to Children and Young Adults

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Mission Smile, an FCRA-recognised medical charity, in collaboration with the Muthoot Pappachan Foundation and Techno India Dama Hospital, is pleased to announce a free cleft surgery camp from May 26th to 30th, 2025, at Techno India Dama Hospital in Kolkata. Dr Sourav Ghosh, Medical Director, Techno India Dama Hospital, stated that over the last two camps, they have successfully operated on 119 patients, with 76% of them being youngsters and 24% young people. A testament to their dedication to transforming young lives through prompt medical intervention. This time, they want to screen 75 to 80 individuals and perform at least 50 safe and successful procedures. Their staff is committed to ensuring that each patient receives the best possible care and outcomes. The "SMILE PLEASE" project, an all-India program by Muthoot Pappachan Foundation in collaboration with Mission Smile, offers free, safe, and full cleft surgeries to disadvantaged children and youth. Initiated in 2014 from Kerala, the program has reached 13

states, carrying out 3244 successful surgeries across the country. As many as 482 patients have been operated upon in West Bengal alone, by 8 missions before this, and this is going to be the 9th mission in Kolkata, and the third one in Techno India Dama Hospital. Total, Mission Smile has performed more than 49,500 free cleft operations and 71,000 free medical evaluations in India to date, including more than 8,000 in West Bengal, with 395 free operations to patients last year. The launch of this philanthropic mission was done in the presence of renowned personalities such as Jayanto Narayan Choudhury-IPS (Retd. DGP of Assam & DG-NSG, Co-Chairman of Mission Smile), Dr. Prasanthkumar Nellickal (Head-CSR of Muthoot Pappachan Foundation), Dr. Sourabh Ghosh (MD-Techno India Dama Hospital), Conrad Dennis (CEO-Mission Smile), renowned Plastic Surgeon Dr. Manish Mukul Ghosh, Mona Sarkar (CEO-Techno India Dama Hospital), Soumen Bandyopadhyay (State Head-Muthoot Fincorp Limited-West Bengal), and Dalip Pande (Director Partnership-Mission Smile).
