News Desk, News Nation 360: The country's second-biggest healthcare chain Manipal Hospitals Salt Lake Kolkata hosted a session on Minimal Invasive Surgery (MIS). Dr MMS Zoha, Consultant Gynaecologist at Manipal Hospital Kolkata, presided over the live workshop. Approximately 400 medical professionals watched the live procedure online. 7 international, 10 national and several medical faculties from South-Asian countries and the UK have witnessed the workshop. MIS surgery has been performed by Dr Abhinibesh Chatterjee, Consultant OBG at Manipal Hospital, along with the visiting team of surgeons from Mumbai, Bangalore and Kochi. MIS will serve as a boon to treat infertility issues, ovarian cysts, tumours of the uterus, heavy menstrual bleeding, and other gynaecological problems. Dr MMS Zoha, Consultant Gynaecologist stated that the workshop aims to promote women's empowerment, education, and women's health. The rationale for promoting the MIS technique is that it is the ideal surgical treatment since it assures faster recovery, less operating pain, and fewer hospitalisation days. Through this session, his team hopes to educate and train a larger number of surgeons to use MIS techniques on their patients. According to Arindam Banerjee, Hospital Director, they are happy to host this kind of informative workshop as they have always done in the past. Manipal Hospital has been practising the MIS technique since its inception, and it is one of the hospital's priority divisions. The workshop, which was overseen by the hospital's skilled medical fraternity, acted as a conduit of knowledge and expertise under one roof.
