News Desk, News Nation 360: Since its inception in 1972 by the founder Acharya of ISKCON His Divine Grace AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Kolkata Rathayatra has become the second largest Rathayatra after Jagannath Purt's Rathayatra, attracting over 15 to 16 lakhs people. ISKCON organizes Rathayatras in over 170 countries and over 800 cities and towns worldwide. 970 million people around the world struggle with some mental illness 25% of people all over the world will be affected by a mental illness at some point in their lives 14.3% of deaths worldwide, or approximately 8 million deaths each year, are attributable to mental disorders. This year, the theme of Kolkata Rathayatra is "Mental Peace" With the growing number of individuals affected by mental illness worldwide. ISKCON devotees will enlighten attendees on how to achieve mental peace even in challenging situations. Through spiritual knowledge, they aim to dispel the darkness of ignorance and guide individuals towards tranquillity. Chief Guest, The Hon'ble Chief Minister of West Bengal Sushri Mamata Banerjee will inaugurate the Rathayatra at 1 pm on 20 June 2023 from ISKCON temple at 3C Albert Road (Uttam Kumar Sarani) near Minto Park. The Rathayatra route is as follows, on Tuesday 20 June 2023 starting at 1.30 pm from Hungerford Street near Minto Park)3C Albert Road (ISKCON TEMPLE)>Hungerford Street -> AJC Bose Road->Sarat Bose Road->Hazra Road SPM Road-> ATM Road Chowringhee Road-> Exide Crossing> J.L. Nehru Road-> Outram Road-> (Straight to Brigade Parade ground. The festival will continue at Brigade Parade Ground (opposite Park Street Metro Station) from 21st to 27th June 2023, from 4 pm to 8:30 pm daily. Attendees are invited to visit with their families to have darshan of Lord Jagannath, Baladev, and Subhadra Devi in Their Mashi-Badi and offer Puja for themselves and their loved ones Various cultural programs, including dance performances by award-winning artists, dramas, kirtans, and magic shows, will be held to entertain the audience. Free Kichadi Mahaprasadam distribution, spiritual books, and books for children will also be available.
