News Desk, News Nation 360: Taekwondo Association of West Bengal organized the “2023 West Bengal State Taekwondo Championship”(Sub-junior, Cadet, Junior) at Nazrul Tirtha, New Town on 15th July 2023. This is the 1st State Taekwondo Championship held in West Bengal under “INDIA Taekwondo” (IT), which is the only National Federation in India, recognised by World Taekwondo (WT) and Asian Taekwondo Union (ATU). Taekwondo Association of West Bengal is the only “INDIA Taekwondo” affiliated State Association, responsible for West Bengal. Participants came from the different States of West Bengal. The motto is to support every budding Taekwondo athlete in West Bengal. North 24 Parganas won the highest number of medals in this prestigious event. All Gold Medallists will participate in the upcoming Official National Championship under INDIA Taekwondo. Hon’ble President of INDIA Taekwondo Shri Namdev Shirgaonker delivered his valuable speech during the Opening Ceremony. 1st Generation Master of India, Pioneer Taekwondo Personality and Former World Championship India Team Coach Grand Master Vishnu Kumar Sharma also delivered his valuable speech during the Opening Ceremony. Taekwondo is evolving as a popular Official Olympic Sport & Traditional Korean Martial Art and as a cultural industry and lifestyle sport popularized in 212 countries + 1 stands for Refugees (under United Nations). Besides that, United Nations (UN) is working with World Taekwondo (WT) to usher in PEACE in the World through the Art of Taekwondo. Tournament Director was Anupam Dikshit (Sports Entrepreneur). Referee Committee Chairman was Master Laxmi Narayan Das and Head Technical Official was Debashish Dutta (National Referee).
