News Desk, News Nation 360: Director Badal Sarkar's new short film Parijayee had a special screening recently at Kolkata Press Club. This witnessed the esteemed presence of the director along with this film's cast and crew members. The film revolves around two aspects of the society's gender roles. Here Parijayee has been used to show how a man becomes a migrant to a foreign place to achieve and earn more from his livelihood and a woman, after marriage, leaves her parental house to an unknown place to serve her role as a wife. The difference between these two scenarios is that men can return to their place after achieving and earning everything they desire, but this is not the case for women. The storyteller has shown that for this reason, the woman can not resist the mental and physical torture of her husband's place and decides to finish herself forgetting the fact that finishing herself is not the ultimatum because a woman is a part of the world-mother. Everyone involved in this project is optimistic regarding success and mass support for this short film.
