​The 35th national conference of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics respiratory chapter ‘RESPICON 2023” was held in Kolkata

News Desk, News Nation 360: The increase in pollution, especially air pollution is a global problem in our country too. Recent research, it is revealed that 52.8% of children in Kolkata & and Delhi have suffered from respiratory problems due to pollution. In this respect, the 35th national conference of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics respiratory chapter ‘RESPICON 2023” is being held from the third to the Fifth of November in Kolkata. In this gathering of esteemed medical professionals at the Pediatric Pulmonology Conference, the urgent issue of environmental pollution's impact on childhood lung diseases took centre stage. Experts from various fields converged to shed light on the growing

concern and discuss potential solutions. Highlighted prominently was the alarming correlation between rising environmental pollution levels and the surge in respiratory ailments among children. Presenters emphasized the detrimental effects of air pollutants, including particulate matter and toxic gases, on vulnerable developing lungs, often leading to asthma, bronchitis, and other chronic respiratory conditions. The conference stressed the importance of multidisciplinary approaches, advocating for collaborative efforts between healthcare practitioners, policymakers, and environmental experts. From the organising Committee Kolkata, Dr Santanu Bhakta, Dr Pallab Chatterjee, Dr Arun Manglik, Dr Shubhasis Roy &  Dr Goutam Ghosh, have Met the Press and said on the latest achievement of pediatric pulmonology and the importance of the conference.  More than 700 delegates and faculties from the various parts of the country and abroad have been invited to this Conference. Remarkable respiratory Pulmonologists like DR. Garry Connett (UK), Dr. Satish Rao, DR. B.S. Sharma, DR. Subramanya Imm. And many others have delivered valuable speeches to share their experience. Increasing mass awareness and the discussion on the knowledge of the newest art of technique of treatment & prevention to our physicians is very much necessary. Such a conference is a crucial step to achieve this goal.
