News Desk, News Nation 360: The 6th edition of Art Haat - the Annual Art Fair & Festival organised by ArtsAcre Foundation in association with Emami (CSR Initiative) was held from 2nd to 5th December 2022. Their objective remains the same - to celebrate creativity and to provide a platform for artists and artisans to showcase their creations and to bring art closer to people. Like previous years, they are constructing 65 aesthetically designed stalls within their spacious campuses where individual artists or groups and organizations are displaying artworks, handicrafts, handlooms etc. and making them available for people to acquire at an affordable price. As always, evenings during the fair would be filled with colourful performing art programs comprising folk music, folk dance, contemporary dance, band music etc. To coincide with Art Haat2022 they are also organising a curated contemporary Art Show titled 'Traversing Thoughts: Beyond the mediums'. Curated by Soma Bhowmik that was a contemporary show where artists are not confined within a conventional notion of medium and they make deliberate choices to explore and experiment with their mediums to traverse unknown tracks. That show puts an emphasis on two contrasting categories of materials like soft mediums (cloth, stitches and threads for example) and hard mediums (ceramics etc). In both categories, artists have denied the conventional and the original purposes of the medium itself by reinventing and reimagining the nature, quality and extent of the mediums. The festival was inaugurated in the presence of Ganesh Haloi, an Artist, Snehasish Chakraborty, Minister for Transport, Govt. of West Bengal, June Malia, Actor & MLA, Koneenica Banerjee, Actor, Manashi Roy Choudhury, Meghdooth Roy Choudhuri, Subhaprasannya and other dignitaries.
