The P.C. Chandra Group Honoured the Leader of the Chandrayaan-3 Mission Somanath S.

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The prestigious leader of India's successful Chandrayaan-3 mission, the country's most lauded space science accomplishment in recent memory, Dr Somanath S, is the recipient of the P. C. Chandra Puraskaar, the annual national award from the P. C. Chandra Group. In Kolkata, Dr Somanath S. was honoured in the presence of A.K. Chandra, Managing Director of the P.C. Chandra Group, and Amitava Chandra, Deputy Managing Director of P.C. Chandra Jewellers, as well as Udipto Chandra, Director of P.C. Chandra Jewellers. Since 14 January

2022 Somanath S has served as Chairman of ISRO, Secretary of the Department of Space, Chairman of the Space Commission, and Distinguished Scientist (Apex Grade). During his illustrious career spanning nearly 38 years, Somanath has made significant contributions to the field of space technology. In the field of launch vehicle system engineering, Somanath is an expert. As Secretary, he led the National Space Policy, enabled IN-SPACe activation, and engaged ISRO in NGPE and start-ups with new space actors. Under his direction, the Chandrayaan-3 mission proved to be a huge success. To ensure a successful lunar landing at the South Pole, he did not spare any effort. He is essential to the ambitious Gaganyaan mission, which aims to send Indians into space. Two new launch vehicles, the Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) and Test Vehicle (TV), were brought to the nation and their missions were completed under his energetic leadership. Another feather in India's cap for demonstrating the autonomous landing of a re-entered winged body—a feat that very few other nations have achieved—was the Reusable Launch Vehicle's successful landing experiment. In the fields of structural dynamics and control, dynamic analysis of separation mechanisms, vibration and acoustic testing, launch vehicle design, and launch services management, he has published several papers in journals and seminars.
